Germany - don’t remember the town. Could be Rastatt.
I liked the angular tone and the colours and it just seemed very teutonic with all the squares and angles.

Statue of Liberty from a different angle, which gives the impression of an over-arching protectionism. Sky was extraordinarily clear that day.

"With conquering limbs astride from land to land; Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall standA mighty woman with a torch, whose flameIs the imprisoned lightning, and her nameMother of Exiles. From her beacon-handGlows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes commandThe air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame."Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries sheWith silent lips. “Give me your tired, your poor,Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me,I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”
Standing over 151’ tall, she cannot truly be appreciated unless you visit her in person. Apparently the 7 point crown represents the 7 continents and 7 seas. The raised right foot is supposed to represent trampling on shackles.

Canadian Parliament buildings, Ottawa, Ontario - Canada. Ottawa is a wonderful place to visit summer or winter (there’s a canal in Ottawa that they have a winter carnival on when it freezes and you can skate for miles). Minutes from Hull, Quebec it is “picturesque”

Hillsdale General Store, Hillsdale, NY (2012). Wonderful place that harkens back to an earlier time. In NY State close to border of MA.  Great restaurant attached (Crossroads Food shop) and linen shop (Boxwood Linen) downstairs. Even a cool ice cream shop next door.
